What Is Copilot Cowork?
Last updated
Copilot Cowork is a new way of working with AI inside Microsoft 365. Instead of asking Copilot one question at a time, you can delegate entire tasks and workflows. It already knows your schedule, your files, and the context around how you work, so you don't have to explain everything from scratch. You describe what you need, and Copilot takes it from there.
Think of it as going from chat to action. You describe what you want done, and Copilot breaks it into tasks and works across Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to make it happen, often running multiple tasks in parallel. It can sort through your inbox, build presentations, run financial analyses with cited sources, and prepare you for meetings by pulling context from your emails and files. And it's not just prompt and response. You can interrupt, steer, and add new tasks while it's already working.

Copilot Cowork Tips You Can Try
This site is a growing collection of practical prompts and use cases to help you discover what's possible with Copilot Cowork. Browse a tip, copy the prompt, and try it with your Microsoft 365 apps. No setup guides or long tutorials needed.
We hope these examples spark ideas for your own workflows. When you see a prompt that sorts through an inbox, you might think of similar routines you repeat every morning. When you see data being pulled from emails into a spreadsheet, you might picture how that could save you hours each week.
Copilot Cowork became generally available worldwide on June 16, 2026. It requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and is billed by usage in Copilot Credits, and because it is off by default, an admin needs to enable it first. For the full breakdown, see our guide to Copilot Cowork pricing. We'll keep adding tips as more features roll out.
